Fairfield, AL, August 8, 2025 – Elior Collegiate Dining is proud to welcome Miles College, a distinguished HBCU with a rich legacy of academic excellence and community leadership, to our family of campus dining partners! Serving higher education for over 40 years, Elior serves several HBCU schools across the country.
As dining was formerly self-operated by the college, Miles leadership sought the expertise of a higher education dining specialist to enhance dining programs, create trend forward concepts, as well as expand upon nutrition and wellness resources.
Elior will manage two dining venues (plus concessions) including the main dining hall where students will savor signature brands including the Flame Grill and Kitchen Classic which offers homestyle and local favorites such as pork tenderloin, BBQ pork and chicken and waffles. Other Elior favorites include Sauce and Stone featuring pastas and pizza, global fare, made-to-order deli selections and Grains and Greens, seasonal and crisp produce.
After a two-year hiatus, The Bear’s Den, will open as a casual and exciting destination where students can stop by to socialize and study while enjoying freshly grilled burgers, chicken sandwiches, vegan options, salads and sides. A milkshake machine was added to create this classic, creamy indulgence for students, faculty and guests! The Bear’s Den will be open Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Fueled by BeWell, a health and wellness platform, will also be offered. Developed by our team of registered dietitian nutritionists, Fueled enhances optimal performance for student-athletes and active individuals.
Both the dining hall and The Bear’s Den were refreshed with new paint capturing the school’s colors, artwork and digital menu boards which display ingredient and allergen information alongside menu items, enhancing student awareness and empowering them to make informed choices.
Felicia Murray, Elior’s food service director, will manage the dining program.
“We are thrilled about this incredible opportunity to partner with Miles College. Our goal is to create experiences that not only delight the taste buds but also strengthen the bonds within the campus community,” said Elior Collegiate Dining Senior President of Operations Travis Young.
